Lee Martin is 1 of the 3 original founders of DustedBreaks, alongside his big bro Mark Martin and ex chunky/dirty house whirlwind Andy Sedge. Starting the nights with a Progressive house and Tribal house music policy as Dusted. Lee though, took to the emerging breaks scene immediately, and the crowd response to new breaks tracks meant he embraced the sound for the nights, renaming it Dusted Breaks. Incidentally, this change of name was also a 'two fingers' to Pacha in London, as they decided to steal the name from us smallies and advertise in MixMag, meaning we couldn't use the name, the pretentious lordy pox-ridden knob jockeys.
Lee also founded the DustedBreaks show on the legendary Dynamic Breaks internet radio, where he played alongside established artists such as Grizzla, CTRL-Z, Collins 303, Transformerman, Sons of Mecha, Baobinga & ID, Quest and many more. The show ran for 3 years, got many listeners, and formed the basis for the tag-team DJ sets we do today. Infectious Breaks came about early in 2008 when Lee and his brother Mark, Met up with fellow Pompey breaks boys The Cubists of Error and Ignition & Promo of Out-break and forged an alliance with them to create the biggest and best breaks night in the city! They started out exactly where Dusted started in the basement of Eq (The Subway) playing the 2nd room for Deep House masters Cartel. They were messed about by the club owner though (not for the first time) and subsequently moved on to a monthly residency of their own at Havana bar in Southsea. The future is bright for Infectious Breaks. They will be promoting forthcoming night's and playing alongside some of Portsmouth's best breaks dj's, as well as some more, masssive name's!! Also come and check us out every 2nd Saturday of the month at Havana Bar in Southsea, Portsmouth for the best in Pompey Breaks! They have already welcomed the likes of Plaza Da Funk, 30HZ, The Rogue Element and Sam Hell, with Elite Force, Jay Cunning and The Beat Assasins to follow early on in 2009. Lee's sound is mainly nu-skool breaks, mashed up with elecro madness and filthy tech-funk Check out his productions also. His Salmon Dance rerub is out at the infectiousbreaks myspace page (which he also runs and maintains) where you can usually find experimental tracks from the Infectious Breaks & DustedBreaks posse. His first official release is due in mid 2009 and its a remix of 'Dreams' by italian up and comer Ottone on Nitrous Records, plus he will also be releasing his own material on the dustedbreaks label, sometime late in 2009. www.myspace.com/dustedbreaksrecordings |

John Selekta has been DJing since he was 10 years old, and is now 33. He has been a member of the DustedBreaks crew since the beginning and provides all the artwork and website design, as well as being a DJ and Live PA.
John lives in Macclesfield near Manchester and DJs mainly in and around the Cheshire/Manchester area at clubs, bars and parties. Over the years he has seen a lot of action behind the decks ranging from house parties in Portsmouth, through residencies in both east and west end clubs in London, through to playing a Radio 1 party in Chicago and the Miami Winter Music Conference. A full lowdown of previous achievments can be found here at breakspoll. Amongst other things John had a long standing radio show on dynamicbreaks.com, played his live PA debut (as SacredScience) alongside DJ Hyper at our own DustedBreaks night, plays radio in London on Unknown FM alongside his big bredren Pete Lewis and has had many a successful promotion across London, Essex, Wales, Portsmouth, Manchester and surrounding counties. And lastly he can scratch. More than a living. Keep it locked on this site for John's mixes and earlybird previews of his new tracks. |

Jase has always been an honourary member of the DustedBreaks posse as he's a lifelong friend of the crew like the rest of us, but used to leave the DJing to the other guys. His vast and eclectic musical tastes mean his collection is off the hook but he only started DJing when he got into breaks. When he got rather good he jumped on board and forms part of the tag team effort found on the internet radio and in Dusetdbreaks' club bookings. He is exclusive to us and his style reflects his musical roots, which are the punk, ska, and psychedelic sound he grew up with. You can usually hear Jase dropping tear-out platters a plenty, and isn't short of a filthy dirty track or two.
Jase's influences are the Clash, Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, Paul Weller, Leftfield, Underworld, to name a few. This guy knows his stuff. |

Kev Brown started off under the influence of the old skool hip hop scene, tuning into Yo! MTV Raps long before the rest of the population had even heard of Sky and MTV got piss poor. His elder brother, Darren, was a hip hop DJ heavily into turntablism and spraycan art, and inevitably this talent rubbed off on Kev.
Classic artists as Flavor Flav/Public Enemy, De La Soul, the D.O.C. (Doctor Dre when he was in his heyday), Digital Underground, and the UK hip hop scene (MC Duke, Overlord X, Demon Boyz) play a heavy part in the grounding for his fat arsed breaks sound. Kev rinses out funky and chunky breaks with the best of them, and his unmistakable bassline-heavy style earned him the title 'Get Down Brown', and incidentally as you can see he is the most photogenic member of DustedBreaks. |

Mark is also a founder member of DustedBreaks. He has seen a lot of action on the decks having had many residencies around the town, and grew up making mixtapes across 2 record players on opposite sides of the room with Mr John Selekta. In fact he invented the name Selekta, after he was stuck for a DJ name. John had a load of bookings in London and the name was invented over a beer off a poster in a pub in Guildhall Walk. haha. Genius.
Marks early influences were Old Skool Hip hop, Stevie Wonder, anything with barrels of raw funk, and Schwarzkopf hair mousse (he used to look like one of NKOTB and get all the laydeez). Mark's breaks style very much follows the ethics of the more complex production skills of Hybrid, Fluke, Unkle and similar masterminds. |
